This resource is an excellent training for mental health professionals to begin to explore how they can complete a comprehensive trauma informed of assessment.
"In 2005, the Chadwick Center for Children and Families created the intervention model, Assessment-Based Treatment for Traumatized Children: A Trauma Assessment Pathway (TAP) with support from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), as part of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). TAP incorporates a multifaceted assessment process to enable clinicians to gain an in-depth understanding of the child, their developmental level, their traumatic experience, and the family, community and cultural system in which the child lives. Incorporating good quality standardized assessment tools within good quality clinical interviews is so important to partnering with children and adults and collaboratively developing a meaningful treatment plan ... over time I have scanned the literature for good tools for children and created a table of these tools.
